As we gear up for the premiere of The Bunker, campaign strategist and folksy aphorism generator James Carville takes a look back at the Beltway documentary that exposed the media war machine behind the infamous 1992 Ohio governor race.

Airing as the premiere episode of Documentary Now!’s 51st season, The Bunker inspired Carville (whose work on Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign was famously portrayed in the documentary The War Room) and former White House Press Secretary Dee Dee Myers to reminisce about the relentless, cutthroat campaign tactics played out by Alvin "Boy Hunk of the Beltway" Panagoulious and Teddy "The Mississippi Machiavelli" Redbones -- two hotshot political strategists and dead ringers for Fred Armisen and Bill Hader.
