Get a Behind the Scenes Look at Documentary Now! at the IFC Center

Beautifully shot. Painstakingly crafted. Meticulously refined. (And that's just Bill Hader's sweatpants headwrap.) Created by Hader, Fred Armisen, Seth Meyers and Rhys Thomas, season one of Documentary Now! features satirical send-ups of actual documentaries with a keen eye toward authenticity.

Just look at how perfectly Sandy Passage recreates the classic documentary Grey Gardens. Okay, maybe there are more floor lima beans.

Each episode matches the look and feel of the source material so well that it's often hard to tell them apart. And that's largely due to the skill and precision of the show's Executive Producer/Director/Writer Rhys Thomas and EP/Director Alex Buono, both of whom will be hosting a live talk and behind-the-scenes peek at their process on Tuesday, April 12th at the IFC Center in New York City. The duo will be screening a pair of their favorite Documentary Now! episodes and discussing how they were able to achieve the distinct look of the original films.
