Alan discovers a new side to Charlie when he reads his diary. Walden talks to Evelyn about redecorating the house, but Alan warns him that she will try and seduce him. She reassures Walden by saying she is too old, but they end up having sex anyway.

Alan is overcome with grief at the death of his brother, so he drowns his sorrows with alcohol. Alan starts acting like Charlie, and even seduces beautiful women. Jake and Walden get worried that Alan is going crazy.
