You know that we love us some Carrie Brownstein. The guitarist, singer and songwriter from the iconic rock band Sleater-Kinney turned Wild Flag rocker turned star of our very own Portlandia is one of our favoritest humans on the planet. So when we heard she was drafting a memoir we were all ears.
Turns out that Carrie has signed on with Riverhead Books, and she’s currently working on a memoir. We’re guessing that her book will cover her childhood, her time in Excuse 17, Sleater-Kinney, writing the Monitor Mix blog for NPR, Thunderant, Wild Flag, and, of course, working on Portlandia. While we would be the first in line for this book anyway, don’t forget that Carrie is also an accomplished writer. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Believer, and Slate, and she’s been a regular on-air contributor to NPR “All Songs Considered.” There’s no title or publication date yet for the book. But we’ll just start standing in line anyway, just to be first. After all, brunch isn’t the only thing worth waiting for.
The third season of “Portlandia” will air on IFC in January 2013
