The cast of Brockmire just added another all-star. Amanda Peet (Togetherness, The Good Wife, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) will join Hank Azaria in IFC’s upcoming sports comedy, which will premiere its first season of eight half hour episodes in 2017.
Based on a hit Funny or Die short film, Brockmire follows sportscaster Jim Brockmire’s struggle to revive his announcing career 10 years after an embarrassing on-air meltdown. Azaria plays the disgraced former major league baseball announcer, who’s busted down to the minors and has to work his way back up by calling games for the ragtag Morristown Frackers. Peet will play Jules, the strong-willed owner of the Frackers, a struggling team in a town that has seen better days.
The series is written by Joel Church-Cooper (Undateable) and will be directed by Tim Kirkby (Veep). Executive producers are Azaria, Church-Cooper, Kirkby and Funny Or Die’s Mike Farah and Joe Farrell. Stay tuned to IFC.com for more updates about Brockmire.
