Don’t call it a comeback, because he’s been weird for years. All the cool kids got to see the master at work when they had their faces rocked off this past weekend by Weird Al Yankovic at the Governor’s Ball in NYC. It was just one of many times Weird Al proved that his rockstar status is no joke. Check out some of the iconic musical comedians’s greatest live performances, and be sure to tune into IFC on June 19th when the legend gets inducted into College Humor’s Comedy Music Hall of Fame.
10. “Canadian Idiot” (2007)
Oh, Canada. We’re laughing with you, not at you. Ok maybe at you, too.
9. “White & Nerdy” (2012)
Not many people can pull off riding a Segway in a live rap performance.
8. “Word Crimes” (2015)
Every student in America should get extra credit for seeing this song live.
7. “Like a Surgeon” (1996)
Well, this is one way to get subscribers on the Disney channel.
6. “Tacky” (2014)
This is definitely better than the original.
5. “Pretty Fly for a Rabbi” (1999)
Weird Al is still cooler than The Offspring.
4. “Amish Paradise” (2011)
Nothing screams Amish anthem like a rap song about butter churning.
3. “Eat It” (1984)
This song inspired a whole generation to overindulge.
2. “Smells Like Nirvana” (2011)
Al hilariously spoofed Nirvana’s famously garbled lyrics with this hit sing. Fun fact: when Kurt Cobain heard that Al wanted to cover one of his songs, he assumed it would be a food-based parody.
1. “Fat” (2012)
Al was body positive way before there was ever a movement.
