Adam Sandler’s Song for Letterman Will Make You Tear Up

Posted by Melissa Locker on
Adam Sandler came to pay his respects to David Letterman on last night’s Late Show and he wrote the retiring host a little song to send him on his way. The lyrics covered Letterman’s time on the show (“no one gets Julia Roberts’ face redder than a flirty David Letterman”) and what he will do once he’s retired (“he’ll finally have time to take Jay Leno out for coffee, and then secretly pee in his cup”) and ended on a completely sincere note, with Sandler singing, “the whole world’s going to miss you, David Letterman.”
It would be considered a sweet ode to the comedian, but it has a little too much detail about Sandler’s mom to qualify as “sweet.” Let’s settle with hilarious.
