The Tonight Show got a visit from the Ministry of Silly Walks last night when Jimmy Fallon welcomed comedy legends Monty Python to the show. Terry Gilliam, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, John Cleese and Eric Idle were on the show to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their classic comedy, Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Once they were on set, they made themselves right at home, promptly taking over the stage. When Cleese decided he wanted to sit behind Fallon’s desk and play host, Fallon had no choice but to join the troupe. He did a fair job passing himself as one of the Pythons, even telling a joke about former member Terry Jones and some fake coconuts from the filming of The Holy Grail. In return, Idle graciously bestowed Fallon with the first-ever Python Award (a coconut, naturally).
