Bryan Singer has posted yet another new image from the set of “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” This latest look at the new movie shows a behind-the-scenes shot of Hugh Jackman filming with Nicholas Hoult.
“Welcome to 1973,” Singer tweets.
For those of you who are out of the loop, Hoult reprises his role as Beast in this new movie, while Jackman reprises his role of Wolverine. The biggest question about this image is whether this version of Wolverine is the one who made a cameo appearance in “X-Men: First Class” or if he’s the one from the future dystopian alternate universe of the movie. Considering Logan looks the same in 1973 and in the future, it will be interesting if this new movie features two different versions of him. Hopefully not, because that might end up being overkill.
“X-Men: Days of Future Past” features returning actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore and Shawn Ashmore, and newcomers Omar Sy, Adan Canto, Boo Boo Stewart and Peter Dinklage. The movie is due in theaters on July 18, 2014.
The official plot synopsis says “the storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men.”
