There will be Klingons in “Star Trek Into Darkness,” and now we get to see what they look like. A new TV spot for the upcoming film shows Zoe Saldana’s Uhura facing off against the Klingons, and even shows what they look like beneath the mask.
In the TV spot, Benedict Cumberbatch’s John Harrison talks about how Uhura’s relationship with Zachary Quinto’s Spock makes her a liability to the team. It remains to be seen if that is actually the case in the new movie, but considering the many life-or-death situations Spock is placed in, it wouldn’t be surprising if his relationship with Uhura becomes a major plot point.
As for those Klingons, it’s nice to have visual proof that they’ll be a part of this movie. With John Harrison as the main villain, “Star Trek Into Darkness” definitely needs some beefing up on the alien front. It’s exciting that the Klingons will be incorporated, seemingly as enemies.
