It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… the newest banner image from “Man of Steel.” The new image shows Superman flying up into the clouds in what is sure to be a money shot from the upcoming Zack Snyder movie.
The flying scenes in “Man of Steel” have been teased in the film’s various trailers, but hopefully Superman’s first flight is as epic as this banner is. Snyder is known for his impressive visual effects, so fingers crossed he put them to good use here.
“This is a Superman for a modern age,” leading man Henry Cavill said in a recent interview. “It’s not betraying anything that Superman is, but it is grounding everything in reality. It’s the story of this incredible being who can do incredible things, but whom we can associate with. Because he’s gone through troubling stuff and had to make tough choices.”
“Man of Steel” stars Russell Crowe, Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne. It is due in theaters on June 14, 2013 in IMAX and 3D. Here’s its official synopsis:
A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.
