Some people were not meant for a life in the spotlight. Chad Stevens is one of them. After failing at a school project due to terrible stage fright, Chad has no choice but to come up with a new and improved means of public speaking. So what does he decide to try? Film. Does it go according to plan? Of course not. This is “Out There” after all and “Out There” is a show that chronicles Chad’s coming-of-age misadventures. If it chronicled everything that Chad (voiced by show creator Ryan Quincy) and his best friend, Chris Novak did right, well it would be an entirely different and probably much shorter show.
After all, when you live in a small town like Holford in the middle of nowhere, there isn’t much to do except wander around waiting out their last few years of high school and discovering that growing up is weird to do. Each week we relive the agony and ecstasy of those special times (a.k.a. adolescence) as Chad and Chris try to navigate life… out there.
Watch Chad’s attempt at making a movie and then tune in on Friday for a new episode of “Out There”:
“Out There” airs on IFC on Fridays at 10/9c
