The world of “X-Men” is fast-forwarding to the 1970s in the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. That means we get an exciting array of hopefully colorful X-Men costumes to look forward to when it hits theaters next year.
ComingSoon.net sat down with McAvoy while he was promoting his new movie “Trance” and asked him for a status update on the upcoming Bryan Singer movie. It turns out he already has a taste of what’s in store for young Charles Xavier.
“I read the script yesterday,” McAvoy said. “I had my first costume fitting. He looks cool. He looks fun. I like his ’70’s costumes.”
“X-Men: Days of Future Past” features returning actors McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore, and newcomers Omar Sy Peter Dinklage. The movie is due in theaters on July 18, 2014.
The official plot synopsis says “the storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men.”
