Vin Diesel debuts new “Riddick” image

Vin Diesel’s excitement about the new “Riddick” movie is palpable. He’s been almost single-handedly promoting the film since its inception, and has had no shortage of set photos and stills from the movie to share with his fans.
He recently uploaded a new image to his official Facebook page that shows Riddick as we’re used to seeing him: Somber, alone and with an awesome vehicle. The “Riddick” lead sits in the rain looking forlorn and is likely trying to figure out how to face the next challenge ahead of him.
The still gives as much away about the movie as its recent poster does, but that’s cause to be excited. It’s clear that the movie is going to put Riddick front and center, if that wasn’t already obvious from the title and every other image that’s been released from the film. Riddick is a great anti-hero, but it will be interesting to see if he’s changed at all since “The Chronicles of Riddick” came out in 2004.
“Riddick” follows the title character after he’s been betrayed by his fellow humans and left for dead on a desolate planet. While he stays busy fighting for his survival against alien predators, bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy flock to the planet to try to kill him. But they’re actually all pawns in his quest for revenge, and he attacks them before returning home to Furya to save his planet from destruction. The film stars Vin Diesel, Karl Urban and Katee Sackoff, and was directed by David Twohy. It’s due in theaters on September 6.
