Get set for Dead Set on Sunday

Posted by Melissa Locker on
The zombies are coming. This is a fact. We don’t mean, you know, that the zombie apocalypse is coming and the dead will rise from their graves to eat our braaaaaaiiinnnnns or anything. (We leave that to our big sister network AMC and The Walking Dead). It just means that we are showing Dead Set all day on Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
What makes Dead Set different from other zombie shows? Well this show is for anyone who has yearned to see reality television stars devoured by a pack of the flesh-eating undead. Dead Set starts on a typical Friday night eviction on Big Brother. Except it’s not a typical evening, because there are reports of disturbances and riots all over the country. The disturbances are severe enough that there’s even a chance that Big Brother will be bumped for breaking news on the riots. Can you imagine interrupting Big Brother? On a typical night that would be cause for rioting by itself. But of course a zombie invasion is far from typical, even the Big Brother contestants are all happily oblivious inside. Dead Set delivers, especially for fans of “Shaun of the Dead”-type zombie fare. If you caught the original British series, you can play spot the cameo with former contestants and the show’s host all making guest appearances. But any viewer can enjoy the enticing collision of reality show-spoof and horror flick, which is truly downright scary.
Watch this clip and then tune in on Sunday for Dead Set starting at 1 p.m. ET:
