Next year is going to kick off with a bang, thanks to director Ruben Fleischer (“Zombieland”) and the all-star cast of “Gangster Squad.”
Warner Bros. has released the second trailer for the 1940s-set action film, which was originally going to be released this past September, but due to the events of the Aurora shooting, has been pushed to January 11th, 2013. Although the offending theater-shooting scene that caused the delay has been removed, the trailer still features plenty of gunplay (and fedoras — lots and lots of fedoras).
“Gangster Squad” tells the story of a team of LAPD detectives warring against a crew of vicious gangsters in 1940s Los Angeles. The film stars Josh Brolin, Emma Stone and Nick Nolte, however, the latest trailer focuses mainly on Ryan Gosling (seeming even colder and deadlier here than in “Drive”) and an almost unrecognizable Sean Penn, who looks like he’s having the time of his life playing real life gangster Mickey Cohen.
