Filming is currently underway on “Skyfall,” the twenty-third James Bond flick, starring Daniel Craig in his third outing as the iconic spy, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem and others. But while we’ve heard rumors of character deaths, and news about the film’s multiple “Bond girls,” we haven’t really seen all that much of the new movie. That changes now.
Next week Slash Film will be posting a full report of their visit to the “Skywatch” set, but they already have a number of details, and more importantly, photos to pore over. While spending time at Pinewood Studios outside London, they reported getting a glimpse at much of the film’s settings, including “a stunning Shanghai casino set, and the remnants of an impressive deserted town meant to be on an island off the coast of Japan.”
But if you’re anything like us, what you’re most interested in are those photos, which show star Craig looking dapper next to a car, even lurking by a window and most excitingly, unloading rounds from an automatic rifle. Also showcased is Ralph Fiennes, wielding a automatic from behind cover. Slash Film notes that there will seemingly be a fair amount of attention lavished on gunplay, as Albert Finney’s character, Kincaide, “is fond of old-fashioned English firearms.” They go on to call out 19th Century percussion pistols and elephant guns as the character’s weapons of choice.
