Who knew Boise, Idaho was a hot bed of talented musicians? When the Boise Showcase took over IFC’s Crossroads House at SXSW 2012 with a line up that included Youth Lagoon and Built to Spill, we were reminded that true talent is never confined to the coasts, red states or blue ones. So it should have come as no surprise that Boise band Finn Riggins knocked us for a loop during their opening set. And, yet, their powerful experimental rock was more than a pleasant surprise. The avant-indie rock trio is a collaboration between Cameron Bouiss, Eric Gilbert and Lisa Simpson, who bring their multiple keyboards, drums, and searing fuzzy guitar together to create a relentlessly infectious blitzed out rock sound. Needless to say, the crowd went wild.
