Now this is more like it! The first official “Skyfall” image shows Daniel Craig looking a lot more James Bond than he did in the previously released still of him chilling out by the pool. Columbia Pictures has put this forth as the first part of their marketing campaign for the upcoming Sam Mendes-directed flick. The image is taken from a scene that takes place in Shanghai.
Not much is known about the plot of “Skyfall” except that Javier Bardem plays the movie’s villain and Dame Judi Dench’s character M takes a front row seat. A recently-released plot synopsis says that Bond’s loyalty to M is tested when a secret from her past comes back to haunt her. It’s up to 007 to track down and get rid of the threat in order to protect M16 and the world.
“Skyfall” also Naomie Harris, Berenice Marlohe, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory and Ola Rapace. It’s set for release on November 9.
“If you’re a Bond fan, then you’ll be happy,” Fiennes told IFC while promoting his film “Coriolanus.” “I can tell you that John Logan has written a fantastic screenplay and [director] Sam Mendes is a class act. They’re doing something quite special I think. I think they’re going to be great for Bond.”
