Lots of people love the “Portal” games. The first-person puzzle titles center their action on a undeniably cool concept–being able to open super-science apertures almost wherever you want–and wrap that gimmick up in humor, charm and poignancy of the first degree.
But, there’s an undercurent of grimness in the “Portal” games. Protagonist Chell doesn’t say a word in “Portal” and “Portal 2,” even as she’s fighting to stay alive during a series of lethal weapons tests. And, as funny as her AI archenemy GLaDOS is, you never forget that she’s got a bit of sadism in her motherboard, too.
So, it’s fun to see the teleportational armament from Valve’s great games being used as implememnts of mirth. YouTube user FinalCutKing uploaded the video above, which depicts the kinds of hijinx that would ensue if a bunch of college kids got their hands on Aperture Science’s finest creation. The antics portrayed here are rather tame–the bit with the girls’ bathroom would probably be a bit raunchier in the hands of some other bro-dudes–but they’re still giggle-inducing nevertheless. Cave Johnson would be proud or maybe he wouldn’t.
