It’s Friday and in time-honored IFC tradition, we plan on scaring the pants off of you tonight. Tune in at 11:35 p.m. ET for “The Dark Half” , in which fear maestro George Romero brings Stephen King’s tale of horror to the screen. The film is the second collaboration between the two masters of terror, and if you saw their earlier collaboration “Creepshow” (“I want my Father’s Day cake!!!”) you know what you’re in for.
“The Dark Half” is a writer’s nightmare come to life: After “writing” a best-selling series of violent pulp books, an author’s pseudonym becomes a physical entity. The evil pseudonym goes on a rampage, terrorizing the author’s family and friends in a string of sadistic murders matching those in his pulp novels. Timothy Hutton gives a killer (har har) performance as both the author, Thad Beaumont, and his pseudonym, George Stark. Watch “The Dark Half” tonight, but don’t watch alone:
