Is it June yet? Because come June 24th, not only will we be wearing shorts and flip flops and drinking juleps, but we will be doing all those summer activities in front of the television watching the IFC original program “Rhett and Link: Commercial Kings.” Don’t worry, we won’t keep the fun to ourselves, you can watch to! In fact, why not throw a “Rhett and Link” party? You and your friends, neighbors, family, and pets can watch as filmmakers and comedy duo Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal travel across America, developing and producing commercials for local businesses. While that sounds like a “Mad Men” spin-off, where Crane and Cosgrove hit the road (which we would totally watch, btw), in fact, the show is based on Rhett and Link’s popular website, www.ilovelocalcommercials.com, which has helped make the duo an internet sensation. In their upcoming IFC show “Commercial Kings,” Rhett and Link create commercials for companies including Ole Man Heavy Hill’s Garbage Service, a one-man weekly trash removal company, and Bury Me Naturally, a green burial service which touts natural decomposition in only four months as the businesses major perk. Real people, real jobs, real funny. So, like we said, is it June yet?
‘Commercial Kings’ premieres on IFC on June 24th at 10 p.m. ET
