That sound you heard last night? It was the sound of hundreds of hardened punk rock hearts breaking. The cause? Former Stooges front man Iggy Pop stopping by “American Idol”. Yes, that “American Idol,” Fox’s behemoth of a talent show. The leather-and-safety-pin crowd can breathe easy though, while the venue may have changed, Iggy Pop hasn’t lost any of his disturbing charm. The shirtless — and seemingly ageless — punk icon tore through his song “Real Wild Child” and taught the wannabe stars what real stage presence is all about. It is just too bad that American Idol judge Randy Jackson didn’t get a chance to call him “dog,” after all, it’s been Iggy’s dream for a long time.
