Psst….Have you heard? Rhett and Link are coming to IFC. That’s right, the comedy duo of Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal are bringing their new show, “Commercial Kings” to IFC. It will premiere on Friday June 24th at 10 p.m. ET.
Starring filmmakers and comedy duo Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, this new docu-comedy series follows the pair as they travel across America, developing and producing commercials for local businesses. While that sounds like a “Mad Men” spin-off, where Crane and Cosgrove hit the road, in fact, the show’s concept is based on Rhett and Link’s popular website, www.ilovelocalcommercials.com, which has helped make the duo an internet sensation with over 80 million views on YouTube. In their upcoming IFC show “Commercial Kings,” Rhett and Link will create commercials for companies including Ole Man Heavy Hill’s Garbage Service, a one-man weekly trash removal company, and Bury Me Naturally, a green burial service which touts natural decomposition in only four months as the businesses major perk. For a clue as to what those commercials might look like, take a gander at some of their earlier work. Here are a few of our favorites:
The Epic and Honest Mobile Home Commercial:
The Sobering Tattoo Commercial:
Their Inappropriate Zoo Commercial:
A Bizarre Plastic Surgery commercial:
And, of course, their Violent and Awesome Credit Union commercial:
