As everyone is well aware, here at IFC, we are big fans of Carrie Brownstein. The former Sleater-Kinney guitarist turned NPR music blogger is now the star of our very own sketch comedy show, Portlandia that she writes and stars in alongside Fred Armiesn. But you knew that, right? The newly-minted comic actress hasn’t hung up her guitar though. She has reunited with Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss, ex-Helium singer/guitarist Mary Timony, and ex-Minders keyboardist Rebecca Cole to form Wild Flag, a psychedelic pop punk super group. The band is in Austin, Texas for the SXSW 2011 Music Festival and are stopping by IFC’s Crossroads House on Saturday night.

With a debut record not due for release until April, most fans won’t have heard the punk-fueled all-star quartet’s songs. This should not stop anyone from tuning into our livestreamat 7 p.m. CT/8 p.m. ET or, if you’re in Austin, from stopping by the house to let these ladies rock your world.
