As the SXSW interactive, film, and music festival approaches, and we firm up the schedule for the IFC Crossroads House, we are getting very excited. But it’s no fun jumping up and down alone in a room (see, Dancing Alone To Pony). In order to get you excited, we’re going to introduce you to some of the musicians, artists, comedians, and events that will be taking the stage (and the live web stream) during the SXSW festival from March 11-20.
Are you going to be in Austin? RSVP now for the IFC Crossroads House at 7th and Brazos and come say hello while you check out the stellar acts on our stage. And never forget: It’s Happy Hour all day at IFC at SXSW.
First up, none other than iconic pop star Liz Phair. It’s been 15 years since the release of her groundbreaking album “Exile in Guyville,” that became an instant indie pop classic. “Funstyle”, Phair’s sixth album, was released in 2010 and reveals a wacky, self-deprecating, rap loving (?) side. We are thrilled to have her playing our house on March 18 at 9 p.m. Until then we will will satisfy our craving for brilliant pop hooks and engaging lyrics by watching her videos:
