It’s March, the sun is kind of shining, Daylight Savings Time kicks in on Sunday (spring forward, y’all) and it is starting to feel like we are almost through the long winter of our discontent. To help jump start the summer lovin’ and remind you of why you are so glad to have outgrown your awkward middle school years, we are showing the summer camp classic “Meatballs”.
No, not these kinds of meatballs, although (pro tip) one should never miss an opportunity to put the Swedish chef on one’s website:
We’re talking about Bill Murray at his screwball best as the head counselor at Camp Northstar. Comedy, romance, and, of course, wacky hijinks ensue as the frazzled counselors and their hyperactive campers (where was the Ritalin in 1979, man?) prepare for their annual competition against the athletic Camp Mohawk. “Meatballs” was the first major directorial effort by multi-talented filmmaker Ivan Reitman, whose name has since become synonymous with the comedy genre. So roast some marshmallows over the stove, make a lanyard, and host a hot dog eating contest for one, we won’t judge! Well, not much anyway:
“Meatballs” airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET tonight
