An all encompassing social network/messaging service called
Skynet SkyGrid recently launched with Lady Gaga and Pearl Jam on board to kick start it. THR reports that the service “allows a music, film and TV marketers, as well as brands and organizations to channel conversations that fans are having on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms to one single place and take advantage of the resulting viral marketing power.”
The company describes itself as “a first-of-its-kind Social Messaging platform, connecting the conversations people are having all over the web.” Any “Public Figure,” such as Lady Gaga, can create a Group, and then all of her rumors, updates, photos, videos, tweets and even status updates of her fans can be shared in one space, across the web.
SkyGrid is also assimilating some as yet unnamed Hollywood studios, to form groups around summer blockbusters and all the trailers, tweets, updates, and exclusives that go with them. THR reports that those studio announcements are expected to be made soon. Hopefully the first one is the fifth “Terminator” film.
