Over the weekend, Gamespot posted a good-sized list of game accessories and paraphernalia unveiled at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. Some of the gadgets seem extravagant. Others superfluous. But nothing on that site’s list is more promising than this bit of tech candy that Forbes’ writer Oliver Chiang highlighted on Friday.
Giving new meaning to the phrase “chest bump,” Immerz KOR-fx technology functions like a subwoofer for your sternum, shooting vibrations from your game (or film) of choice directly into your body and allowing you to actually feel the experience. Sounds like fun — even if it looks like collapsable headphones or a futuristic lie detector. Maybe before the gadget’s release later this year, the designer’s will fit it into a stylish vest.
(As shiny and new as it may appear, this doohickey has obviously been in the making for sometime. Here’s an early, somewhat goofy promotional video.)
