When you think of entertainers aiming to find fame, fortune and/or adulation for themselves in the digital realm, the surviving members of famed comedy troupe Monty Python probably don’t come to mind.
Yet, they’re rolling out a casual games portal under the rubric the Ministry of Silly Games in partnership with developer Zattikka. No word on the extent of Sir John Cleese’s involvement, the initiative’s got Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones as the public faces of MoSG. They’re teasing what the offerings will look like with a playable demo of over at the Guardian GamesBlog. “Camelot Smash-a-lot” clearly riffs off the hit bird-slinging game app–which itself carried the game mechanics of many physics-based Flash games before it–but features a few tweaks that differentiate it from “Angry Birds.” The Ministry’s titles will be launching on Facebook in the near future.
Hopefully, all this leads to a Guitar Hero-style rhythm game that adapts “The Life of Brian.”
