Jeff Bridges won an Oscar for his performance as Bad Blake in 2009’s “Crazy Heart” which teamed him up with an impressive crew of musical collaborators including songwriters Ryan Bingham and T-Bone Burnett (“Walk the Line” and “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”). The three are getting back together to record an album, having scored a deal with EMI/Blue Note Records. Bridges and Bingham will be songwriting with Burnett producing [Showbiz411].
Bingham wrote the hit song “The Weary Kind” which Bridges sings in the film, and has since been recording and touring with his band (which Burnett is also involved with as producer) The Dead Horses. He and Burnett also shared an Oscar for Best Original Song from “Crazy Heart.” Bridges’ collaboration with Burnett really began 30 years ago when they met while filming Michael Cimino’s “Heaven’s Gate” with Kris Kristofferson, who incidentally, the character Bad Blake was based on.
