Want to fund Harmony Korine’s next movie? He’s the newest participant in the International Film Festival Rotterdam’s Cinema Reloaded program, joining “Unmade Beds” director Alexis Dos Santos and “At the End of Daybreak”‘s Ho Yuhang. All three filmmakers are soliciting online donations for their new films through the website, while also contributing text and video blog updates — their projects will premiere at the festival in January.
In his video introduction, Korine confesses to having been “eating a lot of cake,” and promises that his film, “God’s Joke,” will have “a lot of messed-up stuff” and that “we’re going to be doing some serious damage.”
The summary for the project may be more helpful toward making the decision whether or not to contribute your minimum five euro donation:
This is a movie about a person who is born with one of the most unattractive faces in the universe who tries to be the one of the funniest people who ever lived. It’s based around a great stand-up routine from a very hideous human being. This person gives the greatest and most funny monologue in the history of the world but its very hard to look at this person because their face is so grotesque.
