OK GO, the making of “WTF”

Posted by Brandon Kim on
You may be just as prone to laugh at OK Go and the video for their latest single “WTF” as with them – either way there’s a few laughs coming your way. I’m sure you’ve seen their now infamous “treadmill” video (which has over 48 million views on youtube alone now). As for the new video in question, if you haven’t seen it you can watch it here. The song is a decidedly Prince bitten jam, and on the off chance you have not seen their other videos, or don’t know who the hell they are, I bet you’d never imagine they were so ….pinkberry.
I’ve seen these kinds of effects in videos before, but I give props to director Tim Nackashi’s method and the madness. Green screen 99 cent play time. One take too, no edits. By the way, this single is on the forthcoming album, Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky due out on January 12, 2010 on Capitol Records. Check out the making of “WTF” in this amusing piece, complete with it’s own visual tomfoolery. And let’s hope wtf ceases being used to title everything from pop songs to news segments.
