Fifteen years ago today I celebrated my last day of high school. I never flunked a grade of school in my life, so if you ever want to figure out how old I am, just do the math.
I don’t want to downplay any high school kid’s senior prank that he or she may be planning today, but hands down, the following video features the best mosh pit in a high school lobby EVER! I stand behind this claim, because I’m sure if anything like this ever broke out again, a S.W.A.T. team would descend upon a high school faster than you could say “body surf.”
When people view this video, they usually ask, “How did you get away with that?” Here’s the quick version of the story:
My friends and I would occasionally throw rap concerts and sporting events in the hallways of our high school before first period began. Our principal, realizing that we weren’t troublemakers (just some kids with a little too much creativity on our hands), told us that if we promised not to do anything for the rest of the year, he would let us do “whatever” we wanted on the last day of school. In the video, our principal is watching the festivities next to the double doors. A handful of times during the morning, he kindly asked me, “No blood, okay?”
P.S. Tomorrow on Lunchbox I have a special treat for everyone getting out of school this week!
