In late April, The Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York City (former home of CBGB’s Gallery) opened the exhibit, Rockers, showcasing over 280 photographs (featuring the likes of John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley) of famed music photographer, Bob Gruen. The first exhibit of Rockers took place in in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where it drew over 40,000 visitors.

Gruen was not only John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s personal photographer, he also toured with early punk bands (The Sex Pistols, The Clash, and The Ramones) and swung on the other side of the rock pendulum by photographing some of the biggest bands in the world (Led Zeppelin, The Who, David Bowie, and KISS).
You may recognize the above picture of Lennon–yes–that too was taken by Gruen.
Rockers is closing in early July, so if you haven’t had a chance to see it, hurry up before it’s too late. You have no excuses, because admission is FREE to the public.
