Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s 57 seconds of wistful New Year’s well-wishes can be watched on YouTube here. Tip of the hat to Ray Pride at Movie City Indie, who’s also dredged the ‘Tube for more Weerasethakul videos worth watching.
A few more things worth your web video persusal:
Here‘s a trailer for "Goliath," the new feature from filmmakers David and Nathan Zellner (the Zellner Brothers). The film will have its premiere in the Spectrum program at Sundance, and features in its cast "Mutual Appreciation" director Andrew Bujalski, actin’ up a storm these days. Two shorts from the brothers Zellner are actually available for viewing on IFC.com, thanks to the Rooftop Film Festival: "Aftermath on Meadowlark Lane" and "Quasar Hernandez."
Sony’s site for "CJ7," the new Stephen Chow film, proclaims that it hits theaters January 31st, though a peek at the worldwide release dates lists its U.S. opening in March. Regardless, you can see a subtitled trailer here — Chow’s been openly citing Spielberg as his inspiration this round, and it’s very much there, though he’s also never been one to limit himself when it comes to touchpoints and references.
