A rather nicely done trailer here for "Tell No One," a French adaptation of Harlan Coben’s potboiler of the same name, which was a bestseller in the US but never made it to production in Hollywood. Actor-turned-director Guillaume Canet has transplanted the film to Paris, and Kristin Scott Thomas has a presumably French-speaking role. The film, as far as we can tell, has no US distributor, but will be playing at the Seattle Film Festival.
A promo teaser here for the still-unfinished "Babylon A.D.", the new Vin Diesel movie (remember Vin Diesel?) and another baroque sci-fi creation that also stars, rather awesomely, Michelle Yeoh, Gérard Depardieu and, apparently, Charlotte Rampling. It’s helmed by actor/director Mathieu Kassovitz, who’s notable for generating critical acclaim (and a Criterion edition) for his 1995 film "La Haine," and then hopping the fence to make one of the worst-ever English language debuts with 2003’s "Gothika." This one’s a US/France co-production, based on a novel by French sci-fi writer Maurice G. Dantec.
