For the love of God, you must watch this trailer now: "Roll Bounce," like "You Got Served" on roller skates. September 23 cannot come soon enough. Others: one for Michael Showalter‘s directorial debut, "The Baxter," here; one for Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s "Kairo (Pulse)," the US remake of which is currently filming, here; and one for festival fave "My Date With Drew Barrymore," reportedly made for the $1,100 director Brian Herzlinger won on a game show, here.
Elsewhere, via the Hollywood Reporter, ThinkFilm picks up the rights to Atom Egoyan‘s "Where the Truth Lies," which premiered at Cannes two months ago. And Empire reports that Peter Berg is going to direct the hopefully still just working-titled "Bran Mak Morn," an old school loinclothy hack and slash historical-type fantasy. And about time, because there’s a genre that has both Oscar and box office gold written all over it. Except, wait, it did.
