To make up for the next post, which is going to be anything but…
New issues online of both Sight & Sound and Film Comment. As always, neither magazine puts their full issue online. Sight & Sound‘s Michael Witt manages a lengthy interview with Jean-Luc Godard, who doesn’t sound as surly as he did the his April Guardian interview. As if as a nod to his Frenchness, the other available online feature is on Jerry Lewis.
Film Comment has a lengthy feature on critic Andrew Sarris and the golden age of film criticism, when he and Pauline Kael bickered back and forth from the pages of the New York Observer and the New Yorker. Another to check out: the New York Asian Film Festival‘s Grady Hendrix chats with Hong Kong director Johnny To, whose "Election" is current in competition at Cannes.
