Joel Hodge - Bellflower

Joel Hodge

FilmBellflower

From the moment Joel discovered video cameras he started documenting the crazy adventures he and his friends encountered. As a teenager he started compiling this footage into a public access show, eventually shooting and editing a feature length film that became quite popular in the local community. Setting off across the country, he next combined his love of videography and dangerous antics by filming extreme sporting events for XSTV. Joel Hodge and Evan Glodell met while working at Internet start-up company STIM TV, quickly becoming best friends and creative collaborators. They teamed up on many projects, from concept to completion, such as the web-based sitcom Boss of the Glory, Easter A.D and Cursive's "Let Me Up" music video. The duo also worked on the award-winning short film SAVANNA and the feature-length horror movie Placebo. Joel prides himself on mastering any new Coatwolf camera constructed by Glodell, a task which is very challenging and unconventional. It has become a long-standing dare for Glodell to create something that Joel can't handle. Bellflower marks Joel's debut as Director of Photography on a feature film.

Jeffrey Waldron - The Dynamiter

Jeffrey Waldron

FilmThe Dynamiter

Born in the United States, Jeffrey spent his formative years around the world, living in seven cities in four countries on three continents before the end of high school. At a young age, he developed a serious interest in both stop-motion animation and photography—interests that persist in informing his professional work today. His fascination with cinematography and eagerness to pursue a career in filmmaking earned him a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southern California's Cinema-Television Production program and an MFA in Cinematography from the American Film Institute Conservatory. Garnering two Best Cinematography awards at international festivals for his AFI thesis film, Jeffrey dove into the freelance world, shooting features, short films, commercials, music videos and documentaries.

His feature film work includes The Dynamiter, an Official Selection of both the Berlin and Los Angeles Film Festivals, lauded by critics as "beautifully lensed" (LA WEEKLY) and "well-shot, a beautiful work of cinema," (GIANT ROBOT), and Searching for Sonny, starring Friday Night Lights‘ Minka Kelly and Heroes‘ Masi Oka, the original trailer for which won him an interview in Popular Photography and coverage in Filmmaker Magazine.

His documentary work has brought him around the world, from Haiti to Colombia to Rwanda and his directorial debut, Loy Krathong, for which he also composed the score, won Best Short Documentary at two international festivals: "the gorgeous cinematography translates the whole experience as an explosion of colors. Jeffrey Waldron's saturated and luscious travelogue could entice anyone to visit Thailand and linger," (JACKSON FREE PRESS). He has photographed national commercials, music videos featured on MTV, BET and Fuse, and interview segments with pop culture's biggest celebrities including Johnny Depp, Jeff Bridges, Jodie Foster and William Shatner.

Jeffrey is also a multi-instrumental musician and stop-motion animator, but his greatest passion lies in the creation of evocative imagery to tell stories, long and short, fiction and fact.
