Whisker Wars: Meet Aarne Bielefeldt

Whisker Wars returns to IFC on Friday, November 23rd at 10/9c.

During the first season of Whisker Wars, it was easy not to take Aarne Bielefeldt too seriously. After all the European transplant lives out in the woods of Northern California in a solar-powered house that he built, with his wife and his hand-built harpsichords for company. But then at the 2010 Nationals, Aarne came out of the woods and won first place in Full Beard Natural. It was the year when reigning favorite Jack Passion chose to host the event instead compete, but this didn’t tarnish Aarne’s big bushy win. Now, much to Jack’s consternation, Aarne and his beard are Jack’s chief competitors on the circuit. And, frankly, one reason for Aarne’s continued success over Jack might be that in addition to his full and shiny beard, he’s got style and charm that always makes him a fan favorite.

This fall, watch Aarne, Jack, and the rest of the competitors face off in the fascinating and hair raising world of facial hair growing when it returns to IFC on Friday, November 23 at 10/9c.
