About The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret
The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, created, written by and starring David Cross (Arrested Development, Mr. Show) follows the American bloke Todd Margaret (Cross), a compulsive liar lacking any sense of good judgment who finds himself in London heading up the sales office of a new energy drink, Thunder Muscle. The show also stars Will Arnett (Up All Night, Arrested Development) as Todd’s boss Brent Wilts, Sharon Horgan (Pulling) as Alice, the uninterested object of Todd’s affection and Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) as Todd’s mysteriously devious sole employee, Dave. Special guest stars this season include Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Amber Tamblyn (House), and Russ Tamblyn (West Side Story). Co-written by Shaun Pye (Extras) and Mark Chappell (Hu$tle), season two of the IFC original comedy series premieres Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:30pm ET/PT (immediately following the second season premiere of Portlandia) with six all new, half hour episodes.
Last season Todd’s misfortunes continued to accumulate as he trapped himself in an increasingly murky quagmire of lies that quickly spun out of control. Todd instigated a biohazard emergency at a major grocery store, got swindled out of his Thunder Muscle stock by Turkish terrorists, disgraced a national tribute to fallen soldiers and got arrested for breaking into Parliament in a misguided attempt to woo Alice. Alice vacillated between pitying Todd and trying desperately to remove him from her life. Todd’s employee Dave, however, did everything in his power to steer Todd in the wrong direction. As for Brent, he entered his own journey of discovery as it was revealed that he and Todd actually have quite a bit in common.
In season 2, we come full circle to Todd’s impending court hearing and find out the true identity of the clandestine and manipulative mastermind of Todd’s misfortune.
"The new season picks up exactly where last season ended. Literally. From the appearance of Todds' ‘dead’ dad at his doorway, this season completes the full fourteen day story line,” says David Cross. "What may have appeared to be happening to Todd by chance turns out to have actually been calculated."
Musician Johnny Marr returns to score and perform the series’ original music, complementing the existing original pieces he created for season one.
