Winter in Portlandia airs tonight at 10:30/9:30c

As you have probably heard, Portlandia is returning to IFC soon. And when we say soon, we mean TONIGHT. That’s right, Winter in Portlandia kicks off at 10:30/9:30c and we couldn’t be more excited about visiting the fair city of Portlandia during the non-religious holiday season. While we have to wait a few more weeks until season 3 of Fred Armisen’s and Carrie Brownstein’s sketch comedy show returns on Friday, January 4th at 10/9c, we had to share our excitement with the world. Turns out everyone else is pretty excited about the return of Portlandia, too! So we threw a party to celebrate.

On Monday, we took over the American Museum of Natural History after hours for a screening of a few episodes from the upcoming season (so good!) and then followed a bike lane, so we could party down with the blue whale at a reception in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life. Season 3 has a long list of guest stars, and some of them came to kick it with us at the shindig, including Jim Gaffigan. Plus some of Fred’s friends from Saturday Night Live stopped by, incluidng Bobby Moynihan, Kate McKinnon, Jay Pharoah and Andy Samberg, along with Lorne Michaels, who is executive producer of Saturday Night Live and Portlandia. Other guests included Questlove, Martin Short, Eugene Mirman and Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth. It was quite the fete!
