“Portlandia” Heads to a Timbers Game
In Friday’s episode of “Portlandia,” there was a very special guest star. No, we don’t mean Portland Trailblazer LaMarcus Aldridge or “Laverne & Shirley” star Penny Marshall, even though they were both there. The guest star we are talking about is more than one person, one star. The guest we are referring to can’t fit in one seat, they can barely fit in a stadium. This week’s guest was the incomparable Timbers Army, the boisterous die-hard rain-or-shine boosters of Portland’s own Major League Soccer team the Portland Timbers. Every game day these fans show up to fill Jeld-Wen Field to capacity wearing their signature green and yellow scarves and ready to face down their most fearsome foes (Seattle who?). This week, Peter and Nance decide it’s time that they catch a soccer match. They just need to come up with just the right sign to hold up. Watch this clip while screaming “Go Timbers!”:
