The only American member of MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS, Terry Gilliam graduated in political science from Occidental College in Los Angeles, moved to New York and became Assitant Editor of HELP! MAGAZINE and a freelance cartoonist. In 1967 he left America for England and started a new life as an animator.
Having got his name up on the silver screen as Co-Director of "MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL", he has subsequently managed to fool people into believing that he has been totally responsible for such films as JABBERWOCkY, TIME BANDITS, BRAZIL, THE ADVENTURES OF BARON MUNCHAUSEN, THE FISHER KING, TWELVE MONKEYS, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, THE BROTHERS GRIMM, TIDELAND, and the about-to-be-released blockbusting masterpiece, THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS.
His films have won many awards and lost even more.
