Last night at SXSW: Marc Maron on “Maron”

“Maron” premieres Friday, May 3 at 10:00pm ET/PT on IFC.
Last night at SXSW, comedian and podcaster Marc Maron gave a packed house a sneak peek at his upcoming television series “Maron,” which premieres Friday, May 3 at 10 pm ET/PT on IFC. Marc was put in the unlikely, yet somehow completely appropriate position of moderating his own panel discussion along with the show’s director Luke Matheny and Duncan Birmingham, who also serves as the series’ writer, or in other words:
Marc Maron leading a panel about a show about himself. He apparently worked with other people #sxswcomedy @ifcsxsw twitter.com/emilyooo/statu…

Fun fact (well, maybe not for Marc and the rest of the cast and crew):
Each episode of Maron was shot in 3 days #sxsw

This is true:
Seriously @marcmaron describing cat handler used on his new @ifc show #Maron is funniest thing I’ve heard at #sxsw.

And when you watch “Maron” and see a dead opossum, be sure to tweet at Marc and tell him that the opossum looked really fake.
Spoiler Alert:
Dennis Leary, @marcmaron and a crawl space. Just one of the clips we’re seeing from “Maron” at #SXSW #Comedy

Looks like Judd Hirsch replaced Ed Asner as Marc Maron’s dad on @ifc’s “Maron.” He’s showing clips now #sxsw
— Ross Luippold (@rossluippold) March 11, 2013
Yep, Judd Hirsch joined the cast along with Nora Zehetner (Mad Men, Grey’s Anatomy) as his girlfriend, Andy Kindler (Bob’s Burgers, Everybody Loves Raymond) as a loyal friend and Josh Brener (The Internship, Silicon Valley) as Marc’s assistant. Other guest stars include Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall), Bobcat Goldthwait, Adam Scott, Aubrey Plaza, Ileana Douglas, Ken Jeong, Eric Stoltz, Danny Trejo and more.
