The Band: New York Times approved icon of "nerdy cool", JD Samson, has been a major force in the alternative Electro scene since joining the critically acclaimed band, Le Tigre, in 2000. In 2007, JD and fellow bandmate, Johanna Fateman, expanded their musical talents and formed the DJ/production/remix team currently known as MEN. When the duo began to write new songs, they merged their efforts with JD's other project HIRSUTE and incorporated fellow members Michael O'Neill and Ginger Brooks Takahashi. In addition to exploring exciting approaches to music, MEN loves to explore approaches to food. When the band isn't playing one of their high energy, art fueled shows, they can usually be found traipsing around foodie destinations like Chinatown, in search of some culinary inspiration. 
The Dish: Being a band on the go like MEN, doesn't always mean there is time for a sit down meal. Sometimes the only meal is a fast one, but the band never lets quickness effect culinary excellence. Many tours start with a quick stop below Canal street to pick up some of their favorite Chinese delicacies. Whether it is pan-fried veggie dumplings, succulently sweet pork ribs or exceedingly crispy Peking duck, MEN knows how to chow on the fly. While these dishes sit at the top of the of their culinary preferences, no dish is more sought after then the savory, meat filled bun. These brioche styled buns are packed full of slow roasted, velvety bites of meat and sautéed onions. As a nod to the band's preferred road food, Sam will be baking up a gaggle of Boom Boom Boom Buns and pairing them with Long Island Thai Iced Tea.
