There have been a number of different reactions to the publication of internal Clinton campaign memos and emails in Atlantic.com, many focusing on Clinton's lacking as a manager and Mark Penn's lacking as a human. If you haven't read Josh Green's piece yet, I highly recommend doing so. (Click Here)
Here are a few of the more interesting responses to the story:
- In his column for CQ Politics, Craig Crawford considers the motivations of the former staffers in releasing the information.
- Bob Shrum spoke to ABC News about the revelation of a Mark Penn strategy to portray Obama as un-American that was "wisely discarded" by Clinton.
- In the Dallas Morning News, Mark Davis takes the opposite view as Shrum, deriding what he sees as "contrived indignation" at what is a potentially winning strategy that McCain will take advantage of.
-Politico's Mike Allen takes a fuller view of the issue, pointing out the instances of smart strategy and good advice in addition to the misfires.
