The sad news of Teddy Kennedy's cancer diagnosis coincided with the death of Former Carter Campaign Manager and Chief of Staff, Hamilton Jordan. Known as a political "whiz kid," Jordan's strategy effectively got Jimmy Carter elected and, at age 33, he became the youngest-ever White House Chief of Staff. I had the pleasure of meeting him briefly, but even after that short interview I can attest to his graciousness and upbeat attitude -- his positive outlook during his long fight against cancer serves as a model for the many cancer survivors in their battle against this incurable disease.
