The starting gun of the general election has gone off and it was fired by non other than our president, who used an address before Israel's Knesset to liken "some" Democrats's ideas to negotiate with hostile governments like Iran and Venezuela to Neville Chamberlain's appeasement of Hitler in the 1930s. Many took this as a direct attack of Barack Obama in an effort to help fellow Republican John McCain. McCain took the cue and made his own remarks, directly criticizing the senator from Illinois. Democrats reacted with outrage, en masse, including Hillary Clinton. This now puts her in the difficult position of needing to both defend and attack Senator Obama. After defending Obama, she's stated (borrowing from Truman) that if he cannot stand the heat, he should get out of the kitchen. These remarks have largely fallen on deaf ears as Obama is no where near the kitchen, but rather, outside on the track already racing McCain.
